Having finished a Care-giver Course in the Philippine Women's University in Benguet and an Allied Health Technology diploma in the Asian Institute of Paramedic Foundation, she and other young medical professionals put up the Meridian Paramedical & Technical Institute in Baguio City. She mused of the Basic Entrepreneurial Development Course (BEDC) as "I have attended other entrepreneurial trainings but not as comprehensive as the BEDC of the NYC. I found the financial plan aspect of the training as most relevant to my business." Taking the BEDC three years ago, "made me realize that to truly succeed as an entrepreneur, innovation and networking are vital forces in any enterprise," Adeline also added that," the BEDC training in itself afforded me not only kinship to my fellow trainees but also a ready and available network for business." Right now, the Meridian Institute offers two 2-year courses, three 1-year courses and five short-term courses. Adeline, as an entrepreneur, emboldens that with persistence, the right attitude and right knowledge, education and support will help you succeed in all fields of endeavor.

U.P. GREEN LEAGUE | |
The University of the Philippines Green League (UPGL) has been involved in activities that disseminate environmental information such as symposia, quiz shows, exposure trips and environmental and educational discussions. The organization has also participated in clean-up drives, water conservation campaigns, tree planting activities and solid waste management research. One of our (UPGL) main objectives is to play an active role in the protection, restoration and conservation of the natural environment in consolidation with the worldwide effort. With this in mind, we, the members of UPGL continuously come up with an array of activities that help realize our goals. One of the most important, if not, the most important achievement of the organization is receiving the Presidential Youth Achievers Award. This recognition enlivened us to continuously add and edify our projects. It also opened a lot of opportunities for us in countless ways. The success of our organization is a product of the collective efforts of the members of our organization for the past eight years. This is due to the fact that its members share a similar value - to promote love for the environment and for the people who live in it. This inspires the organization to face challenges and live up to high standards. Going to where we are now is not an easy task. We had to go through quite a number of challenges. Each academic year of our organization had its own set of challenges to meet. Some of these challenges are getting sources for our financial needs to implement our projects; having enough manpower to organize our projects; balancing our time between academic and non-academic activities and having other uncontrollable challenges. To be able to face these challenges, one of the vital tools that the organization has is the will of its members and the priority that the members give to each of these activities. We have this will because we believe in the projects that the organization has. We believe that we need each other's support to improve the state of the environment. We believe that doing little meaningful things can be far reaching than we realize. We believe in the collective efforts of our members. We believe that we can make a difference. |
