is[/B]government is right for our country??? then what can you say??? if we change our form of government to federal??? can you give the advantages and disadvantages of federal form of govenrment???
shen brood

i think changing the form of government wont change anything thing only the procedures in the government, position of our public officials. a good effect i dont think so... our system of government is the not the problem but the people who are in the government and the public as well. its like a way of running away from the problem if we change to federal its like patronizing US. what we should change is the attitude of every individuals all of us let us not look into the weakness of someone but let us help each other not to criticise and other and past allegation to one another... let us think of what can we do for the government because the government cannot do anything for us... CHANGING to federal form might cause confusion, mis interpretation, and abuse of our public officials for many of them are not that bright to understand it.... walang pikunan but that is what is true
shen brood
And how will we do that? Changing people's attitude may take forever...

Let us acknowledge the fact that our democracy is still a young one that is still undergoing development (just around a half century old). As we all know, growth is often, if not, always, accompanied by a series of failures. America experienced lots of civil wars before they achieved the perfect recipe of democracy that they are enjoying right now. The same thing goes with France. Perfect, or rather near perfect, form of democracy is not achieved overnight. Philippine democracy needs time to mature. Sooner or later, we'll see the people get tired of the 'sick government' that were having right now. Sooner or later also, they'll become mature voters (who wont elect someone on the basis of popularity but rather capacity to lead this nation).

Bottom point? I think that its not a matter of changing the form of government or the people whom it supervise. I agree with shen, you cant expect 85 million people to change but I also agree with davidyule, that 85 million people need to change. So what shall we do then?

Nothing. All we could do is wait until all those politicians run out of voice and strength grandstanding. All we could do is wait until the stupidity of the 85 million people on choosing the wrong leaders backtrack on them causing them to realize that they're shooting themselves on their feet.

Sounds too idealistic isn't it? I believe pain is the greatest teacher that would move people towards change. Failure precedes development. Development requires time. I'll just pray that were not yet dead before democratic maturity reach our shores.

Then again we.. the youth could start jumpstarting this change because the first step to change is being aware that we need to change and then it should eb followed by concrete actions towards change.

agree! changing people's attitude really may take a long time...
but then, the politicians must discipline themselves...

batet ganun febbie?!
u r reiterating his post lang...
chiqi_chiq
bakit kaya ganito nangyayari saten?>!
at kilala sa reach values that we possess

Balik sa topic tungkol sa form of government, sa palagay ko mas ok ang federal-parliamentary with primary stress on parties and strong formation of beliefs, principles and program of government.

wala akong alam sa mga parliamentary procedures kasi hindi ko siya na pag-aralan...na encounter ko lang sa siya during our seminar on palihang pilipino...pero hindi ko siya masyadong naiintindihan that time kahit hanggang ngayon...heheheh
shen brood

and NYC should be the lead agency in doing that wink.gif

of course wala namang iba
and obviously eto lang talaga
febbie

Changing our government system from Presidential form to Federal form of government is a progressive move to solve the problem that is hounding the Philippines today.Since, dividing the Philippines into Federal States means total developement among the localities or the state. In this form of government, each state will be able to maximize the use of its own resources for developement and for immediate resolution of its problem. However, the progress cannot be achieve even what kind of government form that we want to change...Hanggat hindi tayo gigising walang kaunlaran na mangyayari!!!hope this will serve as an eye-opener to evrybody
shen brood
zhy
since pinag-uuspan na natin to.

much has been said about change.. but lemme ask u this. Why do we have to change our form of government? When we know (if u know) that the same familiar faces will be sitting in the same seats only in a differrent form? I dont mean to judge these politicians who's been volunteering for interviews on TV, participating in debates, blah..blah.. but isnt it obvious that whichever side their on....their's always opportunities for these politicians to play monsters with angelic faces..
in other words my neurotransmitter is saying that even if we change our form of government, and we still have these same people(who knows a lot about laws and politics but forgot the definition of the word service)..we will still end up as trash..
we cannot dissect their brains and change theirs attitudes or practices..so we eliminate them..
SHEN why dont You take their seats.. smile.gif
shen brood
If given a chance I would gladly join them in their seats but what is a single prson like me can do against them.. we should all join hands and create a new society in which the genuine meaning of service will be the utmost consideration.
