(This view is my personal opinion only and does not include the view of my entire organization)
I was moved by her speech and on that night I though, hey she admitted what she did and he apologized and it was a courageous thing to do. But then the next day it seems my conscience told me to go to the pcij website as stated by Justine to look and read if she did not do anything wrong as transcribed. This morning I read the transcript and to my dismay... Commissioner Garcillano have told not only once, not only twice but many times to kidnap someone if they will be of a menace to what they are doing. Sen. Barbers was also there giving 1.5M - 2M to Garci to help him win the election and this was also seconded by Mike Arroyo as she said was also a request of the President.
If you read the transcript you could also deduce that the President did not call Garci only once but she called him on a regular basis to inquire about the election, about the process of dagdag-bawas and if anyone is taking notice of what they are doing.
I was a victim of soft heart when I heard the president but if the transcript and tape is really true it should never ever be tolerated. And for me that would mean Gloria to be the worst cheater ever... well because she was found out. I know that some will say that, "everyone cheats..." but should that be acceptable? Should we accept cheating? Maybe I was just so tired of this endless politicking that I said previously that even if she cheated the one who won is already dead. That was a misstatement on my part because I was teached and I think all of us are that cheating is bad... in school... in our homes... in everywhere we go. IF we accept our President's cheating then we will be a cheating republic.
Now that she said that it is her voice therefore she also acknowledge that the conversation contained in the tape is true. She should resign and accept that she had indeed done a wrongful act. No matter who replaces her we should not accept such wrong doing.. THE ENDS DOES NOT JUSTIFY THE MEANS.
The youth of our nation should be enlightened by the truth. They should know when and where to end a support for a President. A President should lead by good example and this is definitely not the case in what the President did as revealed by the conversation.
I CALL UPON MY FELLOW YOUTH AND THE YOUTH LEADERS TO JOIN HANDS IN CALLING FOR THE RESIGNATION OF THE PRESIDENT AND ADMISSION OF THE TRUTH!

Hanga ako sayo matapang kang magsalita kahit na andyan ka ngayon sa NYC. Di ba nasa Office of the President yan?

just read the transcript of the tapes (full version & capsulized version) and you will see that GMA wants garci to ensure her victory by increasing her votes in some municipalities. those municipalities happened to be under garci and/or they have close contacts there. ang lagay ba e puede na lang daanin sa sorry ang ganung kasalanan porke nasa kapangyarihan ka. i have long lost my trust in her since her 1st term because of the condition of our country. i want to call for her resignation pero would she have honor and delicadeza to the right thing for the greater good? kita naman na sabik sya sa kapangyarihan kaya nga despite ng promise nya nun na hindi sya mag seek ng reelection, e ginawa pa rin nya. i hope the youth will take an active role in the affairs of our country. tayo lang ang huling pag asa ng bayan.

Hey Shenn!!!
Why not issue an official statement of the youth in calling the ("fake") president to resign?
Stepping-down from her post is the last honorable thing to do.
IF SHE HAS HONOR LEFT IN HER SOUL.
Can you do that????

Our organization Brotherhood of Destiny (BROOD) is still undergoing consultation with our members regarding this issue until tommorrow but as of now most of the members are for the resignation of GMA. In case this was voted out we will support this call.
Below is my draft stand for youth individuals and organizations. Please do comment about it and suggest any revision. We are also calling those who will support this stand.
Until tommorrow we cannot endorse this but only present a draft by me as an individual. You can text me at 09167471916 or email me at

A CALL FOR PRESIDENT ARROYO TO RESIGN!
“The youth is the hope of the nation!” With this quote from our National hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, we the concerned Filipino individuals, organizations and other concerned citizens do issue this plea and stand in behalf of our country and our motherland.
When Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo finally admitted that she was the one in the tape talking to Commissioner Garcillano, it was done in a hope to save her administration. People who have watched the telecast can see through her that she was insincere and it was a scripted piece of work. Since PGMA authenticated the voice as her voice then definitely the tape is true. And if what is transcribed is in fact from the original tape then there will no amount of asking for forgiveness in order for Gloria Arroyo to remain in office for she betrayed our trust in her. The tape and the transcript had provided vital information that tells us that Gloria Arroyo ensured her victory in the 2004 elections. She could indeed be the real winner and won over rival Fernando Poe Jr., but what’s at stake is no longer who won but why did she do such a thing which is against the law. Her family’s alleged involvement in illegal activities is unprecedented in any President of our country.
Since her assumption of office the reforms which all of us have hoped for in EDSA 1 and EDSA 2 were never done especially steps towards creating a stronger sense of nationalism and patriotism of our government institution and political parties. She had been vindictive and deaf to the people’s causes and needs. Causing our entire nation to continue into deeper poverty, higher unemployment and fall into a nation of instability and political chaos.
We thereby stand united in our CALL FOR THE PRESIDENT TO RESIGN. Let a transitional government be in place and start the necessary reforms for our country to move forward. Let us learn finally from these events and together create a new Philippines, whose leaders put at the highest level their concern for the people and the country.
This we see is the only way for our country to move on. Let us stand united and be enlightened that our country needs us now. That this is the time for us to act and give genuine fruits to the blood that was shed by our forefathers.
We call upon each of our fellow youth and fellow Filipino to join us in our call for change and progress… it is time for President Arroyo to do what is best… to follow the will of the people and to accept that Filipino’s no longer have trust and confidence in her.
FOR THE SAKE OF OUR COUNTRY PLEASE RESIGN!

i think we lack concrete basis in saying that GMA cheated in the elections (although there is prima facie evidence) and that her family benefited from jueteng. putting words to this effect may discourage other youth organizations in signing this resolution.
in my opinion, gma has loss the ability to lead the country and loss moral integrity to enjoy the trust of most filipinos. that was a result of her admission of talking to an election official during election, and her inability to explain and elaborate on it. her speech was a well crafted legal PR, and not a sincere apology from the heart. was she hiding something? moreover, her programs and reforms has not shown any substantive result, even in advocacy, that they are achieving something to lessen poverty in our country. the damage done by her own action that eroded her credibility is irreversible. the worse state that we are experiencing will continue until she steps down. as cory said, she could be part of the more expeditious and less painful solution of voluntary resigning. unfortunately, she hungers for power too much. remember her broken promise that she will not seek reelection during rizal day. she did it anyway. i pity her, no word of honor and no delikadeza.
"if you had no honor in life, you had no honor in death" gimli the dwarf talking to aragon when the latter is persuading the king of the dead army to join them and save minas tirith in lord of the rings.
i hope she can read this statement, but well the temptation of the ring is more powerful. kaya nyang tiisin na ganito ang sitwasyon ng bansa when she has the power to make the supreme sacrifice. thats not love of country, that is love of oneself.

http://www.gmaresignnow.com/ ... let us unite!
We listened to the tapes. We read the transcripts. We believe GMA's conversation with Garcillano was more than just a lapse in judgment. And when you consider the fact that GMA appointed Garcillano as Comelec Commissioner in spite of his notoriety as an "operator" (one who engineers wide-scale electoral cheating), we can only conclude that the cheating was pre-meditated.
We can, of course, go through the process prescribed by law - impeachment. Meanwhile, however, we have a politically volatile situation that might encourage some sectors to pursue extra-constitutional means to seize power. And given the extent of damage on GMA's moral ascendancy, we believe she has lost the capacity to govern, much less the ability to transform this nation to a strong Republic.
The only decent thing for GMA to do is to RESIGN NOW, and let the constitutional process of succession take effect. By doing this, she can at least save the Republic.
If you believe, as we do, that GMA should RESIGN NOW, join the MORAL MAJORITY in petitioning GMA to RESIGN NOW.

What will be our stand now? .... are we tired? should we accept that cheating is ok? I am also posting this statement so that people will know that the GMA resign sentiment is not only in Luzon as we are being made to believe :
We, the consolidated members and supporters of the “Be Not Afraid Movement” here in Cotabato City and Maguidanao, do hereby openly declare our call for the immediate and unconditional resignation of Pres. Gloria
Macapagal-Arroyo.
The time has truly come for PGMA to step down. She no longer enjoys the trust of the Filipino people. She has violated election laws by committing fraud. She has allowed her family to amass illegal and immoral
wealth through government contracts and “jueteng”.
The time has come for Pres. GMA to realize that her continued stay in Malacañang will only do more harm not only to herself but to the entire Filipino Nation. The economy is at its lowest pit. International investors and creditors are no longer interested with this country, all because of this political crisis authored no less than the President herself.
The Muslims in this country, which we are privileged to represent, are all tired of Pres. GMA. All her policies are causing us misery, poverty and death. Her wars in our homeland have driven away communities into utter dejection in life. We are frustrated and angered by her policies toward us.
As such, we join the rest of the country in calling for an immediate change in the government. With no more moral, legal and patriotic ground to stand on, Pres. GMA has no way out but a resignation. So down with
Gloria! Down with her administration!

Do you think that with resignation of PGMA or Noli De Castro the country's graft and corruption will cease????
The general perception of almost everyone is that almost everyone in the government, military , police etc.... are corrupt !
Even those people in the private sectors are also corrupt.
It is already part of our culture and lifestyle.
