Call for Papers

On February 28 to 2 March 2005, the above
organization
held a successful International Youth Exchange
programme at Goethe Institute, to share
experiences
and highlight on issues affecting young people from
globalization, culture, education, governance etc.
We
are challenged by positive views and
recommendation of
the workshop from participants and observers to
begin
a proactive programme of action as a follow up.

Young people in every part of the world are
working
for fair elections, greater transparency, less
corruption, and political transformation. They are
transforming their countries and changing societies
at
the same time. However, at the global level their
efforts are disconnected... and at the local level,
there seems to be a growing trend of electoral or
political apathytill now.

Against this backdrop, African Youth For
Transparency
presents: 2nd GLOBAL CONFERENCE ON
DEMOCRACY AND
POLITICAL PARTICIPATION, come February 20
2006.

`Theme: Re-defining our dreams and changing
mindsets
in post nascent democracy, a critical challenge for
the successor generation.
