Volunteers for the Early Recovery Project
Myanmar

The ASEAN Secretariat is looking for volunteers to assist the rehabilitation efforts in Myanmar brought about by cyclone Nargis in Myanmar on May 2, 2008.

Qualifications 

• ASEAN citizen
• Have sufficient experience in managing projects in rural areas
• Physically fit to work in areas with challenging conditions for 3 months
• Ready to be deployed in Myanmar at a short notice

Work to do

Conduct surveys in identified villages on their needs focusing on livelihood recovery and rehabilitation of key community infrastructures and subsequently, implement the project in partnerships with the local volunteers and villagers.

Expenses

Each volunteer will be provided with an economy-class return airfare, allowance to cover his or her accommodation, meals and other living costs during the 3-month service.
