Twenty Top Youth Organizations Vie for Youth Awards

The National Youth Commission, together with the Office of Senator Francis Pangilinan, would like to thank all of the youth organizations that joined the 3 rd Search for the Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations (TAYO).

The Area Finals for TAYO were held simultaneously in Luzon and Mindanao on 27 April 2005 and Visayas and NCR on 29 April 2005. Each area was represented by ten organizations, out of which five were selected to represent the area in the national finals.

The organizations who made it to the 3 rd TAYO National Finals are the following: Benguet State University – Development Communication Society (CAR); Sining Bulakenyo – Pangkat Mananayaw ng Bulakan (Region 3); University of the Cordilleras – Supreme Student Government (CAR); Tanghalang Lepanto – Benguet (CAR); Young Artists’ Fellowship for the Environment (Region 4-A); Gil Montilla National High School YECS – LCAO (Region 6); West Visayas State University Political Science Students’ Organization (Region 6); Teatro Kabataan (Region 8); University of the Philippines- Visayas Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (Region 6); Sogod Young Catholic Movement (Region 8); State College Mathematics Society (Region 10); Save Mindanao Volunteers, Inc. (CARAGA); Beehive 4-H Club (Region 12); Mlang Youth Association (Region 12); Anak ng Tribo (Region 10); Kabataang Gabay ng Bayan-KAGABAY (Tondo, Manila); KANLUNGAN-Kilusan Para sa Kalikasan (Tondo, Manila); Mu Sigma Phi Sorority-UP Manila; San Beda Dragon Boat Rowing Society; and the UP Special Education Council (Diliman, Quezon City).

The top twenty youth organizations will be meeting in Metro Manila at the end of June for the TAYO Week activities, culminating in awarding ceremonies in Malacañang on June 30, 2005. The ten winning organizations will be receiving a cash grant of Php50,000 and a handcrafted trophy.
