Youth Agency in Search of Youth Ambassador

The National Youth Commission (NYC) is searching for 28 youth delegates to represent the country in the 31st Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Program (SSEAYP) to be held in seven ASEAN countries and Japan.

SSEAYP is a youth cultural exchange program sponsored by the Japanese Government in cooperation with the ASEAN member countries. Delegates will visit the participating countries on board the luxury ship Nippon Maru, and get involved in various activities like educational tours, courtesy calls, interaction with local youth and homestay program.

While on board the ship, the youth delegates from all over ASEAN and Japan get to know more about each others’ culture through cultural presentations, discussions and club activities.

Qualified delegates must be 18 to 30 years old, single, has good moral character, an active officer/member of a youth organization, physically and mentally fit to travel, preferably a first-time traveler, must not have been a recipient of an NYC-funded international travel, has a strong background of Philippine history, geography, culture and arts, knowledgeable of current issues of the Philippines, Japan and ASEAN countries and must be a resident of the region to be represented for at least one year.

The NYC is also in search of a National Leader, who must be 31 to 45 years old, a government employee or official, has good moral character, physically and mentally fit to travel, capable of handling/facilitating a team, possesses people skills and knowledgeable in ASEAN-Japan affairs and other international concerns. Experience in youth-related affairs will be an advantage. The National Leader will serve as the government’s representative in the program.
