RSDC VIII Resolution Supports National Congress of Youth Development Officers

The Regional Social Development Committee (RSDC) for Eastern Visayas approved Resolution No. 10 (series of 2007) last 01 February 2007.

The resolution enjoins local government units (LGUs) of Eastern Visayas to participate in the National Congress of Youth Development Officers that shall be conducted by the National Youth Commission (NYC) and provisionally scheduled on April 2007.

The resolution was approved during the 01 February 2007 RSDC Meeting at the NEDA Conference Room, NEDA Region VIII, Government Center, Palo, Leyte.

Ms. Mercy Cuesta, NYC Coordinator for Region VIII, had this concern as one of the agenda of the Regional Advisory Council (RAC) – VIII Meeting last January 2007 prior to the RSDC's approval. The resolution shall assist NYC's initiatives, and shall facilitate participation of LGUs relative to the promotion of youth development during the national congress.

The National Congress of Youth Development Officers seeks to gather Sangguniang Kabataan (SK), youth development officers, and other youth stakeholders to share their youth development initiatives and discuss strategies/activities that would ensure the localization of the Medium-Term Youth Development Plan (MTYDP) 2005-2010 or the national framework for youth development that was approved by the President Macapagal-Arroyo through Executive Order No. 438 in June 2005.
