Regional Consultations for National Youth Plan

After updating the Study on the National Youth Situation, the National Youth Commission is currently making the rounds in regional centers nationwide to consult with regional agencies, youth-serving organizations and youth representatives on a comprehensive program of action towards youth development and empowerment.

The Medium-Term Youth Development Plan (MTYDP) for the years 2005 until 2010 will be the main result of this activity, which will anchor the efforts of government, non-government and the youth to give workable solutions to the current problems faced by the youth as a sector.

Along with the establishment of Regional Advisory Councils (RACs), the consultations also establishes the presence of the NYC in the regional level, and ensures that the distinct problems encountered by youth in every region are given proper attention.

Consultations have ended in NCR, Region 2, Region 9, CARAGA, Region 5, Region 8, CAR, Region 12 and Region 11. Other regional consultations are to be conducted until October 6, 2004.

The culmination of these consultations will be the presentation of all regional outputs during the National Medium-Term Youth Development Plan Visioning Workshop to be held on 13 October 2004, witnessed by representatives of government agencies, stakeholders and program partners.
