NYC and Gawad Kalinga Youth to Establish Partnership
The National Youth Commission, headed by Executive Director Dino Badilla, and the Gawad Kalinga Youth recently opened talks on establishing deeper partnerships.
The GK Youth pledged to provide representatives to the existing Local Youth Development Councils and participate in the Local Youth Development Planning in the 17 target regions. They also promised to help the NYC in the promotion of the SEA Games Volunteer Program and mobilize volunteers among their ranks for the event.
The main cooperation between the two youth-serving organizations will be during the conduct of the Youth Organization Registration Program’s leader’s assembly.
The assembly will take place this year in seven (7) areas nationwide, Namely: Metro Manila, Baguio City, Naga City, Cebu City, Cagayan De Oro City, Zamboanga City and Davao City.
Each assembly seeks to gather as many as 100 youth organizations with five (5) representatives each in every venue identified.
The assemblies are being implemented to orient the youth on nation-building, launch the Medium-Term Youth Development Plan and promote the SEA Games Volunteer Program.
This activity also hopes for the creation of a confederation of youth organizations, as well as to create a pool of youth volunteers in each area identified.
