International Istanbul Youth Festival

Background:

The Fomged Youth Club of Turkey will organize the “International Istanbul Youth Festival” to give the youth all over the world a chance of learning about Istanbul and introducing their own countries and vicinage in the cultural, artistic, sporting and social fields.

Venue and Date:

The Festival will be held from July 10-18, 2010 in Istanbul, Turkey.

Participation Guidelines:

Youth groups who are willing to participate in this festival may apply in two different categories:

Category A: Folk Dances, Modern Dances, Music, Band and Harmonica Groups

Admission:

• Performers have to be between the age of 15-26.
• Only one group will be invited from each country.
• Interested group has to introduce their country’s culture and traditions in the fair-stands to be provided by the Organizing Committee.
• The group must have the maximum of 26 member composed of 24 performers and 2 leaders.
• All participants have to get the Travel Health Insurance before they come to Turkey.
• The group has to get ready to perform 3,5 and 7 minute-shows when required. The participating groups will only perform in shows arranged by the Organizing Committee.
• The group should send the Organizing Committee a short cv, photo, DVD/VCD to introduce the group with the participation form. Download form at www.fomgedclub.com .
• Application should be sent by e-mail, mail and fax until March 30, 2010 to [email protected].

Category B: Groups of Traditional Street Performance and Social, Cultural, Sports  Group (Painting, Felt, Tile, Ceramics, Glass Blowing, Vein, Carpet Textile, Wood Carving, Photography, Dart, Bocce, Chess, Table Tennis, Juggling, Magics, Acrobatics, Street Musicians, Pandomime, Caricature, Graffity, Traditional Food Cooking, Traditional Hand Crafts…)

Admission:

• Performers have to be between the age of 15-26.
• Groups of Traditional Street Performance and Social, Cultural, Sports Groups will be invited from each country.
• Each participant group has to introduce their country’s culture and traditions in the fair-stands to be provided by the Organizing Committee.
• The number of participants is limited to a minimum of 3 to maximum of 10 people.
• The participating groups will only perform in shows arranged by the Organizing Committee.
• All participants have to get the Travel Health Insurance before they come to Turkey.
• The group should send the Organizing Committee a short cv, photo, DVD/VCD to introduce the group with the participation form. Download form at www.fomgedclub.com .

Transportation and Accommodation Expenses:

All travelling expenses to and from Ankara, Turkey will be the responsibility of the participants themselves. Transfers from and to airport and transportation to the activities of the festival programme will be provided free of charge by the Organizing Committee.
The participating groups’ full board accommodation in minimum of 3 star hotels will be provided free of charge during the festival week.
