WORKSHOP ON DEVELOPING INTERNATIONAL YOUNG LEADERS
Theme: “Positioning Young Leaders Internationally”

July 1 – 7, 2007 Kuala Lumpur , Malaysia  

The International Youth Centre (IYC) of Kuala Lumpur is organizing the Workshop on Developing International Young Leaders from July 1 to 7, 2007 in Kuala Lumpur , Malaysia .

The workshop shall comprise of paper presentations, country paper presentations, forum, group discussions, deliberations and field visits.

The purpose of the programme is to promote the importance of international leadership among young people and share experiences on the various international leadership practices, methodologies and models that have been used, including the skills and characteristics required for outstanding international leadership.

Objectives of the workshop:

"  Understand the scope, issues and challenges of leading internationally

"  Share ideas and experiences on the various leadership approaches, practices and models that have been applied in international leadership

"  Determine the role of organizations as the nucleic nerve center for leadership development and incubation

"  Identifying the common characteristics associated with being an international leader

Who may participate?

"  Officials from government agencies in charge of youth

"  Young leaders from NGOs

"  Youth work professionals

Participants will pay for roundtrip airfare while the organizer will shoulder all local board and lodging expenses

Nomination forms could be forwarded to the organizing committee on or before June 15, 2007.
