2010 China-ASEAN Youth Camp
April 21 to 28, 2010
Background:
This program is part of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao’s proposal at the 10th China-ASEAN Leaders Meeting to invite 1,000 ASEAN youth to visit the country in 5 years and at the 11th China-ASEAN Leaders Meeting to invite ASEAN youth to participate in exchange and dialogue programs in China. This year’s Camp has the theme “China-ASEAN Free Trade Area in the Eyes of Youth” and is organized by All-China Youth Federation (ACYF).
Ten (10) youth delegates from each ASEAN member country are invited. Each delegation shall include one (1) senior official on youth affairs as delegation head and four (4) young journalists and the other five (5) shall be young officials, entrepreneurs, artists or outstanding university students. Two (2) observers from ASEAN Secretariat are also invited to participate.
Participant’s Eligibility:
- Filipino citizen
- Except the delegation head, participants must be between 18 to 30 years old
- Senior official on youth affairs, young journalists, youth organizations officials, young entrepreneurs, artists or outstanding university students
- Able to communicate in English and participate in the whole program
- Of good moral character
- Physically and mentally fit to travel
- Former recipients of NYC funded international programs from April 21, 2009 to April 21, 2010 are disqualified to apply
- Must have a passport valid until at least six (6) months after the date of the departure for the program
Applicants without any passport details shall not be considered.
Expenses:
The delegates are required to arrange and pay for their own international flights. The organizer will provide local hospitality, including food, accommodation and local transportation during the event. For accommodation, the delegation head will be accommodated in a single room, while other delegates will have twin sharing rooms.
