NYC Wants Volunteers for 23 rd Southeast Asian Games

Want to rub elbows with upcoming sports superstars? Are you looking for something relevant to do? Do you want to be nationalistic without being political?

The National Youth Commission is calling all interested youth, families, organizations and barkadas to apply as volunteers for this year’s biggest athletic event, the 23 rd Southeast ASEAN Games (SEA Games).

Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks (ushering spectators, assisting athletes, translators, etc.) needed to successfully implement the games.

The games will be held in Metro Manila, Luzon and the Visayas. 9 cities in Metro Manila, 6 areas (Lipa City, Tagaytay City, Silang, and Los Baños in Region 4-A; Olongapo City and Angeles City in Region 3) in Luzon and Bacolod City and 4 areas in Cebu province (Cebu City, Danao City, Mandaue City and Lahug) in the Visayas will serve as venues for the different events.

All interested volunteers can access the NYC website (youth.net.ph) for the application form. You may also search Friendster (username: SEA Games) for SEA Games information. E-mail us at [email protected][email protected] and [email protected] for application and more details.

You can also call the NYC Main Office at 781-2323, 781-1406, 749-9399 and 749-9401 for information on how to volunteer.
