JOLINA, DINGDONG & ONEMIG:
Lending Their Voices to the Youth Smoking Prevention Campaign

Theirs are the faces and voices that, as often as they are seen on national television, are also closely associated with programs of the National Youth Commission (NYC) at present. These personalities, aside from launching a thousand products through commercial endorsements, have likewise launched vital programs of the NYC by serving as models and spokespersons for volunteerism among the youth.

Onemig Bondoc and Dingdong Dantes as Celebrity Youth Advocates in order to increase the awareness of young people about the advocacies, programs, projects, and other activities of the Commission.

NYC Commissioner Richard Alvin M. Nalupta declared that Jolina, Onemig and Dingdong were unanimously chosen because they are celebrities who promote idealism, dynamism and the spirit of volunteerism among the youth, aside from their numerous achievements in various fields.

Aside from being a multi-awarded young achiever, Jolina is also an entrepreneur who, in 1999, was appointed by Malacañang as the country’s first National Youth Advocate. Aside from numerous showbiz commitments, Jolina can likewise be seen hosting “The Working President,” a regular newsmagazine of the Office of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. She is also a partner of the GMA Kapuso Foundation and an active supporter of the Make A Wish Foundation, a global organization that grants non-material wishes of terminally ill children.

Onemig, on the other hand, is a talented ABS-CBN and Star Cinema artist who has been given citations by various private, government and non-government entities for being an exemplary model and an inspiration for the Filipino youth. He is likewise a Youth Spokesperson for the Department of Education and a youth volunteer of the Red Cross. Despite having a very active career in showbusiness, Onemig also serves as the Vice President of the Benedictine International School of Quezon City and is a member of the board of directors of the Philippine Institute for the Deaf.

Dingdong, meanwhile, has been singled out as the Prince of RP Movies in 1999-2000 by the Guillermo Mendoza Awards and bestowed the 2002 Youth Achievement Award by the German Moreno Award-giving body. He has likewise garnered nominations in the Metro Manila Film Festival and the Aliw Awards for Best Supporting Actor and Best Male Host. Dingdong has singularly distinguished himself by having served as the youth spokesperson of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
